Five warning signs of active Eastern subterranean termites in an East Texas home: (1) discarded swarmer wings on window sills, (2) mud tubes on the exterior foundation, (3) hollow-sounding baseboards, door trim or floors, (4) bubbling or cracked paint on interior wood, (5) small pinhole exit points in wood surfaces. Any one warrants a free inspection.
When this applies to your East Texas home
- Small piles of translucent wings on window sills, exterior door frames or sidewalks — spring swarming
- Pencil-width brown tubes on foundation, piers or crawlspace joists
- Baseboards or door frames that sound hollow when tapped with a screwdriver handle
